22.02.08: Inability To Control Emotions Increases Wound Healing Time
Inability to control emotions increases wound healing time - this is the conclusion made by scientists of State Ohio University after carrying out an experiment involving 98 volunteers.
The researches wounded left hands of the participants and then monitored the healing process during 8 days. The ability to control emotions was estimated by the tests, which the volunteers had filled in before the experiment started. It turned out that short-tempered person needed more time to heal their wounds.
The scientists took into consideration such factors as duration of sleep, physical activity, alcohol drinking. The form of of negative emotions - concealed or open agression - did not influence the recovery process. The researches state that the data is confirmed by the results of previous investigations.
