14.02.07: Joints Crack
Q: Recently I have noticed that my joints started to crackle. Why does it happen? Will the right diet help in this case?
A: Joints may crackle when you move with unusual amplitude. But in the majority of cases this is a sign of the coming arthrosis. Smooth, mirror-like surface of the joint cartilage becomes rough. The grease, covering it, loses moisture and the rubbing of bones increases. Typical crack appears. Special medical gymnastics helps not only to stop the development of the disease, but also to stimulate growth of the grease. Medications are prescribed when the final diagnosis is known. That is why one should visit a doctor. There used to exist an opinion that consuming nightshades (including tomatoes) or lots of salt may cause the illness. But these theories were not proved scientifically. Percentage of those suffering from arthrosis is equal in almost all countries. Modern science believes that the development of the disease is connected with the problem of over-weight.
